Gifts galore await at the Happy Holidays Gift Store and Market, brought to you by 817ArtsAlliance in conjunction with the Arlington Museum of Art's (AMA) Mitch Wilson Memorial Festival of Trees. Our local artisans and collectors come from a variety of backgrounds but they all share an enthusiasm for what they create and collect. Some have online shops and some have their work in local brick and mortar shops. Check back (below) as more info becomes available and to see which artisans and collectors will be participating in the following Happy Holidays Happenings at AMA.

Happy Holidays Gift Store
Everyday during the Mitch Wilson Memorial Festival of Trees at AMA

Located on the mezzanine level of the AMA, Happy Holidays Gift Store offers an extraordinary shopping experience. Handcrafted, many one of a kind, creations by local artisans and vintage finds from local collectors will fill the middle gallery. A wide range of goodies, including mixed media framed wall art, slip cast and wheel thrown ceramics, framed and unframed photographic art, jewelry, fused and stained glass, vintage finds and more will delight the people on your gift list or become a treasure for you.

The following list shows many of the artisans and collectors that will be part of Happy Holidays Gift Store. Click on an image to be taken to that vendor's online presence if they have one.

Happy Holidays Gift Market
*** Canceled due to weather. See some of the artisans at their websites below. ***

It's a pity that the weather kept you from meeting in person the almost 30 artisans in addition to the ones that make up the Happy Holidays Gift Store that you would have found at the Happy Holidays Gift Market. However, some of these market vendors did submit an image to be linked to their online presence, so you can still get in touch with them if you are interested in what they have to offer.

If you can get by the Arlington Museum of Art to view the Festival of Trees, you will still find great gifts for people on your list from local artisans at the Happy Holidays Gift Store through December 29.

Happy Holidays Artisan Demonstrations

Mitch Wilson Memorial Festival of Trees
Arlington Museum of Art

Back by popular demand and in memory of a beloved member of the Arlington Museum of Art, the AMA will be hosting the Mitch Wilson Memorial Festival of Trees from Nov. 2 - Dec. 29, 2013. A festive selection of decorated trees will fill much of the museum. Two new treats will be permanent installations in this year's exhibit, Santa art by illustrator and artist Tom Newsom and the Happy Holidays Gift Store stocked with creations by local artisans and finds from vintage collectors. An extended Holiday Market will snake through the museum on Saturday, Dec. 7 and Sunday, Dec. 8.

Regular museum hours and admission rates will apply with free parking in downtown Arlington. The Festival of Trees and Happy Holidays Happenings are free to AMA members. Regular AMA admission prices during the Festival of Trees Exhibit include an exhibit long pass for free re-admission. The Arlington Museum of Art is sharing the holiday spirit with a gift to the community of free admission for two days only, Dec. 7-8, during the Festival of Trees Exhibit.
